Born in '88 — old enough to remember life before smartphones, young enough to know them inside out. I grew up in the last era where kids disappeared outside until dark. No group chats. No algorithms. Just neighborhoods and boredom and actual downtime.
Then the internet happened. I leaned in. Years in the cellular industry, always the person in the room who actually understood what the technology was doing. Friends and family started calling when something broke. Then they started calling about their kids.
I'm a dad of four, married 16 years, and our family navigates the same screens yours does. I know both worlds. Tetherwise exists because most parents are trying to make decisions about a world they didn't grow up in — and they deserve a real conversation, not a scare tactic.
